Connie’s Students and Parents,
One of our Senior Dancers, Ms. Emily Reynolds, has a brother named Andy. You may remember Andy from recital; Emily danced to “American Soldier” while Andy stood on the stage with her. Andy’s unit was sent to Iraq a few weeks ago, we are going to keep a box at the studio and keep filling it with things that Andy and the rest of his Platoon may need, or like. (There are 15 guys in his platoon) We would like to invite every family from our studio to participate. It would be a great time to show these guys how much you appreciate what they have sacrificed for their country and us.
Andy has provided us with a list of things that they would like, and is impossible for them to get. They are listed at the studio, but if you have something special, or something else you would like to send, please feel free to do that! I am sure they would appreciate anything they could get. He also said they always like letters, because it is nice to know that someone from home is thinking about them, it keeps them from feeling so lonely. I think it would really be neat if the kids or you included a few “notes from home”.
Please help us in filling our “Adopted Platoon Box” Remember all of these soldiers are someone’s child…I would like to think if it were one of mine, someone would help to make them feel as important as they are!
I put tons of stuff in that box. Everyone bring the least little thing. It makes more difference to Andy than any you'll every know. Nothing like getting mail - "you've got mail!" Everything over there is tan. Not like the green green grass of home here in Ky.
I was just thinking 'bout that dance too! Wow.
