The 'voms', Hallway Monitors and Happy Endings

When I arrived at Kentucky Center to video recital, I was greeted by Karen, who introduced me to two volunteers that she said would 'keep the voms cleared'. I only recently learned what the 'voms' meant from my neighbor who herself is a volunteer at Kentucky Center. Jessica, you know her, she is Sister Mary Rhodes. Sister Mary told me the 'voms' is a place for actors to run off stage if they get sick so they don't hit the audience! Wow! Back to the story... As you know, the cameras were setup in the voms just as I'd seen KET's cameras the week before. Well, the left voms has a direct view from the stage to the dressing room so all the dancers who had a little time came out to watch their mates and this is where the happy ending comes in. I was having a hard time with technology but enjoyed the moments that they cheered their fellow dancers on and knowing all the while I captured it on video!
And where were my 'hall monitors'? Right from the start they were watching intently every dancer perform!
